Senior Pastor: Rev. Dwayne H. Ewers, Sr.
Dwayne was born in Charleston, South Carolina, but grew up in Kingsport, Tennessee. He met his wife, Jennifer, in Nashville, Tennessee where they were married. In 2001 they moved to Louisville, KY where Dwayne attends The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Dwayne and Jennifer have three children: Dwayne Jr., Julia, and Drew. Dwayne has served on staff at churches in Tennessee and in Kentucky and has been a pastor since 2002. Dwayne’s passion is seeing people grow more in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ. Music Minister: Angela Hartman
Angela Stephens-Hartman was born and raised in Bardstown, KY. She began studying piano at the age of nine and quickly grew to learn that music ministry was God’s plan for her life. She graduated from Campbellsville University in May of 1999 with a degree in church music.
It was at Campbellsville University where she met her future husband, Andy Hartman. They have been married for eight wonderful years.
Along with her work at Midlane, Angela runs her own piano studio. She has 43 students of all ages and walks of life. Some of her hobbies include scrapbooking, reading, cooking, playing golf, real estate, long walks, gardening, watching movies, and entertaining.
Angela’s deepest desire is for people to draw closer to God through the power of praise and worship.
Church Secretary: Bonnie Hatfield
Bonnie was born and raised in Savannah, Georgia. She has a bachelors degree in Travel and Airline Marketing Management. She moved to Louisville in 1990 after marrying her husband Stephen. She has no children but loves animals and considers them her children. She enjoys spending time with her husband and her animals, gardening, reading, and swimming.
Pianist: Brenda McDade
Brenda McDade was born in Lexington, KY, but was raised in Louisville. She began studying piano when she was seven years old and continued through college. She studied music at The University of Kentucky for two and a half years and then felt the call to travel by becoming a flight attendant for 12 years. She came back to Louisville in 1990 to become the pianist at her childhood church, Midlane Park Baptist.
Besides being the pianist, she is a receptionist at a busy real estate development company and the proud mother of two sons and a grandson.
Some of her hobbies are reading and watching movies. She also enjoys watching football, basketball and baseball. She loves animals.
Brenda loves using her talent to praise God!
Organist: Betty Hale
Betty Wainscott-Hale has always been involved in music, having taken piano, voice and organ lessons. She attended Georgetown College in Kentucky for two years where she was a member of the BSU choir. She then married Gene C. Hale and was married for a little over 54 years, until he passed away. They raised three daughters. Betty attended Kentucky Southern College and the University of Louisville where she received her B.A. and Masters of Education degrees. She taught school for a number of years as well as played piano and organ in various churches. Betty is also the mother of Midlane Park’s pianist, Brenda McDade.
